Apartment moves are building moves
In a Dubai tower, the furniture is the easy part. The building is the hard part. Most towers require a move-out permit from the management office, a booked service-lift slot, deposit paperwork, and a window that is often restricted to weekdays and to specific hours.
Turning up on a Friday with a van and no lift booking is how a move becomes a two-day move. Tell us your building when you first message and we will confirm the access arrangements as part of scheduling.
Sizing an apartment
Apartments size cleanly by bedroom count, because the furniture set is predictable. We quote against the category, not a square-footage figure:
- Boxes — AED 500/month. Boxes, suitcases, seasonal clothing and documents. No furniture.
- Studio — AED 700/month. A studio's contents: boxes plus a sofa, a TV, a bike and small appliances.
- 1 Bedroom — AED 1,200/month. The most common booking. A queen bed, fridge, washing machine, sofa, dining set and the boxes.
- 2 Bedroom — AED 1,950/month. Two bedrooms of furniture, all the white goods, sofas and a dining set.
If you are between two categories, send photos of each room on WhatsApp. Over-sizing costs you every month; under-sizing costs you a second trip.
The apartment-specific things people forget
- The built-in wardrobe is not yours. Only free-standing furniture goes to storage.
- Fridges and washing machines need to be drained the day before, not on the morning of collection.
- Balcony furniture has usually taken more sun damage than you think, and is often not worth the monthly storage cost.
- Air conditioning stays on until collection day. A flat that has been shut up and unconditioned for a week gets humid, and damp furniture should not be wrapped and stored.

Common questions
How do I know what size I need?
Send us a photo or a short video of the rooms on WhatsApp and describe the furniture. We will tell you which size fits and what it costs before you commit.
We size by category rather than by measurement: Boxes, Studio, 1 Bedroom, 2 Bedroom and Villa. Most people book the one that matches the property they are emptying — the one-bedroom category is the most common.
Which areas of Dubai do you cover?
All of Dubai — Marina, JBR, JLT, Downtown, DIFC, Business Bay, Palm Jumeirah, Jumeirah, Al Barsha, Mirdif, Arabian Ranches, Dubai Hills, Silicon Oasis, Sports City and the rest.
Tell us your building or community when you message and we will confirm access arrangements with you.
How much does storage cost in Dubai with Smart Space?
Storage starts at AED 500 per month for a boxes-only unit. A studio is AED 700, a one-bedroom AED 1,200, a two-bedroom AED 1,950 and a villa AED 2,600 per month. Packing and transport is charged once, from AED 850. All prices exclude 5% VAT.
You get the full price confirmed before anything is booked.
Do you pack for me, or do I pack myself?
Packing, wrapping and any furniture disassembly are included in the one-off packing and transport charge. You do not need to pack yourself, and you do not need to hire a van or lift anything.
If you would rather pack your own boxes and only pay for transport, say so when you request your quote and we will price it that way.
Do I pay extra to get my things back?
Yes. Return delivery is quoted separately and charged in addition to storage, unless it is already included in your agreed package. It is normally charged at the same rate as your original collection, and the amount is confirmed with you before we schedule it.
If you paid six or twelve months upfront, your collection is free — return delivery is still quoted separately.
How quickly can you collect or return my items?
Message us on WhatsApp and we reply quickly. We confirm the collection or return slot with you before anything is scheduled — collection and return timing is confirmed based on availability.
The more notice you can give, the more choice of slot you have. If you are working to a fixed handover date, tell us the date when you first message.
Am I locked into a contract?
No. There is no lock-in contract. You can store for a month or for a year.
If you pay quarterly or annually upfront to take advantage of the discounts, that period is paid in advance — the discount is the trade-off for committing early.
Is there anything you cannot store?
Yes. We cannot store food or anything perishable, live plants or animals, flammable or explosive material such as gas cylinders, fuel and solvents, chemicals, weapons and ammunition, illegal items, or cash, jewellery and documents of high value.
